The number of customers without power because of this weekend's storm is now 38. Major progress being made.

(SHELTON, WA) -- A morning windstorm packing 50+ MPH winds caused outages for over 11,500 Mason PUD 3 customers today. PUD 3 is now down to 38 small, scattered outages. The largest is found on Auseth Lane & Valley Rose Drive. There is a damaged power line that runs cross country (doesn't follow an established road) that serves 22 customers in this area. When crews investigated it last night, they determined repairs needed to happen in daylight. Now that the sun is coming up, they are on their way (as of 8:00 AM).

At the height of the damage, areas affected include:

  • Agate
  • Angleside
  • Arcadia
  • Bloomfield Road
  • Cloquallum
  • Cole Road
  • Cook Plant Farm Road
  • Dayton
  • Harstine Island
  • Highway 108
  • Island Lake
  • Kamilche
  • Lake Arrowhead
  • Lost Lake
  • Lynch Road
  • Matlock
  • Mill Creek Road
  • Mountain View
  • Old Olympic Highway
  • Portions of Highway 101 North
  • Schafer Area
  • Shelton Valley
  • Shorecrest
  • Star Lake
  • Squaxin Community
  • Tee Lake
  • Woodland Drive

In addition, there were many small, scattered outages throughout south Mason County. PUD 3 crews worked hard to get to all customers' power restored as quickly, and safely as possible.
