Fall Storm Smashes into Mason County - PUD 3 Working to Restore Electricity to Nearly 4,200 Customers

(SHELTON, WA) – Mason PUD 3 crews are working to restore electricity to 4,155 customers throughout Mason County. Heavy rain and gusty winds are responsible for this morning’s outage situation.
The area hardest hit is the west Tahuya Peninsula, where wind gusts were reported at nearly 40 MPH. 3,196 customers lost power at 2:00 AM. PUD 3 is working to energize the substation that serves that region of north Mason County.
670 customers in the Lake Cushman area in the Olympic Mountain foothills lost power when a tree damaged power lines.
