Mason PUD 3 Restores Power to 3,300 Customers in Downtown Shelton

Power Restored at 10:11 AM. Transmission Line Damage Caused Downtown Shelton Power Outage.

(SHELTON, WA) – Mason PUD 3 crews are working to restore electricity to 3,320 customers in downtown Shelton. Damage to a high voltage transmission line cut power to the Mason Substation at 6:45 this morning. The power should be back on by 11:00 AM.
Affected areas include:
- Downtown Shelton, including the Shelton-Matlock Interchange
- West Deegan Road
- Cloquallum Road to the intersection of Wivell Road
PUD 3’s monitoring system alerted personnel to a problem with power. Linemen found the cause: a damaged transmission line on Northcliff Road near the intersection of Moore Avenue.
PUD 3 recommends unplugging sensitive appliances and electronic equipment until power has been restored for approximately 20 minutes. In addition, especially with electronics, it is important to consider using surge protection.
