Power Restoration Complete after Stormy Conditions Cause Scattered Outages in Mason County

Stormy weather created scattered outages in Mason County last night. PUD 3 linemen have restored power.

As of 9:53 AM - Power restoration has been completed for all customers affected by last night's rain and windstorm.

(SHELTON, WA) – Mason PUD 3 crews are working to restore electricity to 130 customers in scattered areas of the county after stormy conditions cut power this evening.

Affected areas include:

  • Allyn: State Route Three near Grapeview Loop Road
  • Agate: Valley Rose Drive
  • Cloquallum: including Lost Lake, Wivell Road, Badger Lane, and Rock Creek Rd.
  • Grapeview: including Okonek Road and Jack Powell Loop.
  • Harstine Island: Jarrell’s Cove area, and a portion of South Island Drive.

PUD 3’s advanced meters alerted personnel to the outages, which occurred between 7:50 PM and 8:45 PM.

There have been high wind gusts in Mason County tonight.

  • Belfair, 25 MPH
  • Shelton, 31 MPH
  • Grapeview, 26 MPH
  • Harstine, 20 MPH

PUD 3 recommends unplugging sensitive appliances and electronic equipment until power has been restored for approximately 20 minutes. In addition, especially with electronics, it is important to consider using surge protection.
