Tree into Transmission Lines Along Highway Three Caused Widespread North Mason Power Outage

(BELFAIR, WA) – Mason PUD 3 linemen working this afternoon to restore electricity to nearly 7,700 customers in the Belfair area and on the Tahuya Peninsula. A large tree fell into high voltage transmission lines along Highway 3, just north of the PUD 3 warehouse near Belfair.

The incident cut power at 1:16 PM to substations at Collins Lake and near Union River. A portion of the power from the Belfair substation was cut for safety while repairs on ongoing.

Two and a half inches of rain has fallen so far today in the area. More rain, and possibly windy conditions are expected into tonight.

Customers can report outages online by downloading and using the PUD 3 SmartHub app. SmartHub can also be accessed on the web at https://my.pud3.org.
