Customers in the affected will be notified by mail.
On Thursday, May 4, 2023, Mason PUD 3 will be returning its system to normal on North Shore Road, following Mason County Public Works' fish culvert project from last summer. This process will require a temporary outage for 260 customers in the North Shore Road and surrounding roadways. The outage will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Customers affected by the outage will be notified by mail and other methods they have requested (email, phone call, text message, SmartHub notifications).
During any outage, the PUD recommends unplugging sensitive appliances and electronic equipment until power has been restored for about 20 minutes. Also, especially with electronics, it is important to use surge protectors. Customers can visit www.pud3.org/prepared to find other tips and suggestions.
Since the work will be happening along the North Shore Road, residents in the area should expect traffic delays while the work is being performed.
Providing safe and reliable services to the residents of Mason County is PUD’s top priority. Projects which provide flexibility in the operation of its distribution system, such as this, play a part in the PUD’s national reliability ranking with the American Public Power Association as a Reliable Public Power Provider.
