From January 2026 to October 2026, PUD 3 bills will have a “Temporary BPA Power Adjustment” surcharge from Bonneville Power Administration. For the sake of transparency, this will appear as a separate line item. For the first nine months, the total will be $1.63. In October, PUD 3 will charge the exact amount needed to fulfill BPA’s requirement. The total will be similar for that month but could be slightly higher or lower.
BPA has said it will implement a $40 million surcharge shared across its many utility customers to rebuild financial reserves depleted by lower revenue the last few years. This is the second time BPA has implemented this surcharge. Read more about this on BPA’s Newsroom webpage.
