Save Money and Stay Comfortable with Your Water Heater
ENERGY STAR® qualified heat pump water heaters (HPWH) are revolutionizing the way we heat water. New products recently introduced are utilizing super-efficient technology that can cut water heating costs by more than half! Program Requirements
In existing homes, the HPWH must replace an electric storage water heater. Please download PUD 3’s HPWH Incentive Form. This form must be filled out and submitted with all required documentation before incentives can be paid. We will need a copy of your receipt with make, model number, and cost of the qualifying appliance. We also need your PUD 3 account number (or service address and name of the account holder) along with what type of water heat you use.
- In existing homes, the HPWH must replace an electric storage water heater.
- The new HPWH must be listed on the BPA’s qualified products list (PDF) as meeting the requirements of the Northern Climate Specification.
- PUD 3’s HPWH Incentive form (PDF) must be completed and submitted.
- Please check with your local permitting agencies (Washington State Labor & Industries, Mason County or City of Shelton) to see what permitting your installation is subjected to.
HPWH Incentives
- 40 Gallon HPWH Tier 3 & 4: $1,400 rebate OR $2,800 when pre-qualified through the Project Share application.
- 50+ Gallon HPWH Tier 3: $1,600 rebate OR $3,000 when pre-qualified through the Project Share application.
- 50+ Gallon HPWH Tier 4: $1,800 rebate OR $3,000 when pre-qualified through the Project Share application.
